Are There Therapy Groups in Georgia for Women’s Self-Esteem and Confidence?

If you’re looking for a therapy group in Georgia that supports women with self-esteem, confidence, and anxiety, you’re not alone. Many women struggle quietly with self-doubt, people-pleasing, and feeling like they have to hold everything together. They can continue to appear capable and put-together on the outside (still everyone’s “go-to” person), while on the inside they are struggling with anxiety and feeling unfulfilled.

The good news is that therapy groups designed specifically for women’s confidence and emotional well-being do exist, and for many women, group therapy can be especially powerful.

How therapy groups help women build self-esteem and confidence

Therapy groups support confidence by offering real relational experiences, not just insight.

In a well-facilitated group, women can:

  • see how others genuinely experience them (often more positively than they expect)

  • practice expressing their needs and boundaries in a supportive space

  • reduce their shame through shared experiences and realizing it isn’t just them

  • challenge harsh self-criticism with real feedback

  • feel less alone in struggles they’ve been keeping private

Self-esteem often grows in relationships, not through self-fixing — which is why group therapy can be such an effective option. Group therapy has repeatedly been shown in research to be just as effective as group therapy and can be more affordable.

What types of women’s therapy groups exist in Georgia?

Luckily, there are already so many fantastic women’s groups out there. The groups may be different in format or subject.

For example, women’s therapy groups may focus on:

  • anxiety and stress management

  • self-esteem and confidence

  • people-pleasing and boundary challenges

  • relationships and communication

  • burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • grief and loss

  • perinatal and postnatal mood disorders and concerns

Some groups are skills-based and educational, while others are process-oriented, meaning they focus on emotions and relationships as they unfold in real time.

What is a women’s process group?

A women’s process group is a form of therapy that centers on emotional experiences, relationships, and patterns that show up within the group itself.

Rather than following a strict educational curriculum, process groups emphasize:

  • emotional awareness

  • honest communication

  • belonging and connection

  • noticing how you relate to others

  • practicing new ways of showing up

Because confidence and self-esteem are shaped in relationships, many women find process groups especially supportive for this work.

Is there a therapy group in Georgia focused on women’s self-esteem and confidence?

Yes!
There are several, and I’m happy to say that I offer one of them here at Rosebud Psychotherapy. I currently lead a women’s therapy process group for adult women in Georgia who want to build self-esteem, strengthen confidence, and reduce anxiety and people-pleasing patterns.

This group is designed for women who:

  • struggle with anxiety or chronic self-doubt

  • feel responsible for others’ emotions

  • have difficulty setting boundaries without guilt

  • want deeper, more authentic relationships

  • want to feel more secure and confident in themselves

You can learn more about the group here:

The group is facilitated by me, Maggie Malone, LCSW, a licensed therapist based in Marietta, Georgia, who specializes in anxiety, people-pleasing, relational patterns, and group therapy for adult women.

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in compassion and client autonomy. I have special training and education on group therapy theory and facilitation.

Is group therapy right for you?

Group therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • want support but feel tired of going it alone

  • struggle with confidence in relationships

  • want to practice boundaries in a safe environment

  • are curious about connecting with other women who “get it”

  • have done or are currently in individual therapy and craving something more

You don’t need to be outgoing or confident to start. In my specific group, the women who join are struggling with confidence and anxiety, so they definitely get the nerves and are often excited to share how group has helped them grow their confidence.
