Welcome! I’m Maggie.

I offer therapy that helps you soften and slow down without collapsing.

My pronouns are she/her/hers.

I work with women who are tired of managing themselves, their relationships, and everyone else’s emotions.

My approach is relational, compassionate, and practical. We look at how anxiety, people-pleasing, and perfectionism developed — and gently untangle them so you can feel more grounded, connected, and at ease in your life.

This work often includes:

  • learning how to set boundaries without shame

  • understanding your nervous system and stress responses

  • practicing self-compassion instead of self-criticism

  • exploring relationship patterns that keep you stuck in emotional labor and over-functioning

There’s no pressure in my office to perform, “do therapy right,” or fix yourself.

This is therapy for those women who hold the world together but in doing so often neglect themselves. It’s time to get grounded and bloom.

Therapy for Anxiety, People-Pleasing, and Over-Functioning Women in Georgia

You might be in the right place if:

  • You’re capable, thoughtful, and responsible — and totally overwhelmed

  • You anticipate other people’s needs before your own

  • You struggle to rest without guilt or anxiety

  • You feel pressure to hold everything together, even when you’re exhausted

  • You’ve been told you’re “too hard on yourself,” “too sensitive,” or that you “overthink,” but it feels deeper than that

Ways to Work Together

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a space to slow down, understand your patterns, and practice relating to yourself with more care and less pressure.

I work best with women who are reflective, curious, and ready to move beyond just coping toward deeper change.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a core part of my work and often the most powerful place for healing patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, and emotional over-responsibility.

Being in a room with others who carry similar weight — and learning you don’t have to hold it alone — can be profoundly relieving.

Premarital / Pre-Commitment Counseling

I offer secular, thoughtful premarital and pre-commitment counseling for couples who want to build a strong foundation before marriage or long-term commitment.

This work focuses on communication, emotional responsibility, boundaries, and navigating stress as a team — not just preparing for a wedding.

About Rosebud Psychotherapy

Rosebud Psychotherapy is a private, values-driven therapy practice in Marietta, Georgia.

This practice is rooted in compassion, autonomy, and the belief that growth happens when we feel safe enough to pause. Therapy here isn’t about becoming someone else — it’s about giving yourself permission to bloom.

  • Therapy can help you understand why you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or resentful — and support you in responding differently, not just trying harder.

At Rosebud Psychotherapy, I commonly work with clients who are struggling with:

    • Chronic anxiety or nervous system overwhelm

    • People-pleasing and difficulty saying no

    • Over-functioning in relationships or work

    • Perfectionism and harsh self-criticism

    • Burnout, emotional exhaustion, or resentment

    • Boundary challenges with family, partners, or work

Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you feel safer in your body, clearer in your choices, and more connected to what actually matters to you.

  • People-pleasing is a pattern of prioritizing others’ needs, emotions, or expectations at the expense of your own — often to avoid conflict, rejection, or disappointment.

Over time, this creates anxiety because your nervous system is constantly scanning for how others feel instead of tuning into your own needs. Many people-pleasing behaviors began as survival strategies in relationships where emotional safety or consistency wasn’t guaranteed.

Therapy helps you understand why these patterns developed — and gently practice new ways of relating that don’t require self-abandonment.

  • My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in both emotional and nervous system awareness.

    I integrate:

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Somatic and body-based awareness

    • Mindful Self-Compassion

    • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

    • Feminist and anti-oppressive frameworks

Sessions often include a mix of reflection, skill-building, emotional processing, and noticing what’s happening in your body — not just your thoughts.

This work is collaborative, paced, and respectful of your autonomy.

  • I specialize in working with:

    • Adult women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s

    • High-achieving, thoughtful, and emotionally aware clients

    • People who give a lot to others and struggle to receive

    • Clients who value insight and practical tools

    • Feminist, social-justice-oriented individuals

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. Curiosity and willingness are enough.

  • I offer individual, intensive, and group therapy options:

    • Individual therapy for anxiety, people-pleasing, and burnout

    • Women’s process group for anxiety and relational patterns

    • DBT skills group (all genders)

    • Dungeons and Dragon Therapy Group for Adults

    • Intensives (90 minutes or longer) to help you get deeper, faster

I also offer couples counseling, specifically premarital and pre-commitment therapy.

Sessions are offered in-person in Marietta, GA and virtually for clients across Georgia.

  • Therapy may be a good fit if you’re tired of pushing through, minimizing your needs, or waiting for things to “settle down.”

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many clients come because they want:

    • More emotional ease

    • Healthier boundaries

    • Less guilt and self-criticism

    • More fulfilling relationships

    • A stronger connection to themselves

If that resonates, we can explore working together.
