Meet Maggie Malone, LCSW
Therapist for Anxious, Burnout, Heart-led Women
Welcome!
I'm Maggie Malone (she/her), a licensed clinical social worker, and the founder of Rosebud Psychotherapy.
If you've landed here, there's a good chance you're someone who holds a lot together for a lot of people. Someone who cares deeply, feels things intensely, and has probably been told at some point that you're "too much" or "too sensitive." Maybe you've spent years putting yourself last, spinning in anxiety, or trying to logic your way out of feelings that just won't go away.
I started Rosebud because I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation — warm, honest, maybe occasionally a little silly, and always deeply human. My office (virtual or in-person) is a place where the messy, complicated, full version of you is not just tolerated but genuinely welcomed.
Whether you’re struggling to prioritize yourself, trying to figure out lots of big emotions, feeling burned out and bitter, or just need a caring, safe place to talk, I’m here to help.
What Therapy With Me Actually Looks Like
Therapy with me isn't just talking about your week and leaving with a vague sense of being heard. Though we do talk about your week and being heard is a very important part of our work!
Here's what you can expect beyond “just talking”:
We'll make space for your feelings. A lot of people have learned to stuff, avoid, or rush past their emotions. We slow it down. We make space for things to land. You don't have to perform being okay here.
We'll get curious about your patterns. Why do you keep ending up in the same situations? Why does saying "no" feel impossible? Why does rest feel like guilt? Understanding why we do what we do is often the first thing that loosens its grip on us.
You'll leave with actual tools. Insight is valuable, but it's rarely enough on its own. I'm trained in evidence-based approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), which means you'll build a real, personalized toolkit for navigating anxiety, relationships, emotions, and life.
We'll zoom out when it matters. Your struggles don't exist in a vacuum. I look at what's happening for you in the context of your relationships, your family history, your community, and the broader world — including the very real ways that sexism, racism, ableism, and other systems of oppression shape our mental health and our sense of self. Your pain isn't just a "you" problem, and I won't treat it like one.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I'm also specially trained in Group Psychotherapy and hold over 100 hours of continuing education in group work specifically — which is rarer than you'd think, and something I'm genuinely passionate about. For couples, I am certified in the Prepare/Enrich Model and pull from the Gottman Method.
You’re down with a therapist who is kind, honest, and a bit silly and nerdy
You’re tired of feeling walked over and resentful in your relationships
You’re not looking for a quick fix, but you are looking for a space to feel seen and heard, complete with handy tools and gentle accountability.
You want a space that affirms your identities and honors both your pain and your strengths.
You’ve tried “just thinking positively” and are ready to go deeper than that.
You value authenticity, softness, humor, and social justice—all wrapped into your healing work.
We Might Be a Good Fit, If . . .
Ready to work together?
Who I Work With
I specialize in working with primarily adult women who are dealing with:
Anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout
People-pleasing, perfectionism, and the exhausting pressure of never feeling "enough"
Low self-esteem and self-doubt
Codependency and relationship patterns that leave you feeling drained
Substance use concerns and the impact of growing up in a home shaped by addiction
Childhood trauma, including emotionally immature parents and parentification
Perinatal and postpartum life
Life transitions and identity exploration
In addition to individual therapy, I also offer secular premarital counseling for couples and specialize in group therapy.
I facilitate DBT skills groups, women's process groups, and yes, a Dungeons & Dragons therapy group because the healing that happens in community is something individual therapy simply can't replicate.
You May Be a Good Fit If…
You're in the right place if:
You want a therapist who is warm, direct, and refreshingly human — not a blank-faced professional who nods and says "how does that make you feel?"
You're tired of feeling resentful, invisible, or like everyone else's needs matter more than yours
You're not looking for a quick fix, but you are ready to do real work — with support, tools, and some genuine accountability
You want your full identity acknowledged and affirmed, not minimized or ignored
You've tried journaling, self-help books, and "just thinking positively" and you're ready for something that goes deeper
You value authenticity, humor, social justice, and connection

Ready to see if we're a good fit?
I offer a free 15-minute consultation call — no commitment or pressure. It's a chance for you to ask questions, share what's going on, and get a feel for whether working together feels right.
Not quite ready? That's okay too. Keep reading; the FAQ section below answers a lot of the questions people have before they reach out.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely not. Some people come to therapy in a really difficult moment; others come because they want to understand themselves better or grow in a particular area. Both are completely valid reasons to start. You don't have to hit rock bottom to deserve support.
-
I hear this a lot, and I take it seriously. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and a mismatch in approach, fit, or style can make the whole thing feel pointless. My approach combines genuine warmth and relationship with practical, skills-based tools. It tends to resonate with people who felt like past therapy was "just venting" without much traction. That said, the best way to know if we're a fit is to have a conversation. The consultation call is exactly for this. Also, I highly recommend you discuss group therapy with me if you’ve done individual therapy in the past and feel you hit a plateau. A process group can give you the change to actually apply all the things you previously only discussed in individual therapy.

I get it! You’re worried about doing therapy wrong. But there is no one way of showing up. All of it is welcome. Crying is fine. Not crying is fine. Sitting in silence for a moment while you collect your thoughts is fine. Using fidgets, sitting or lying on the floor, whatever it is, we’ll roll with it. You don't have to come in with anything prepared or polished. Some of the most meaningful sessions start with "I don't even know where to begin."
-
That feeling is really common, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Reaching out for help — especially for the first time, or after a hard experience with therapy — takes courage! The consultation call is low-pressure by design. We're just talking. You can ask me questions, share as little or as much as you want, and see how it feels. You're not committing to anything by reaching out.
If you're on the fence, consider this your gentle nudge. You deserve support. And you can always start small.

Both! I see clients in person at my office in Marietta, GA (near the Marietta Square), and I offer virtual therapy to anyone located in the states of Georgia and Alabama. Many of my clients find virtual sessions just as effective and appreciate the flexibility.
-
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don't bill insurance directly. I can provide you with a superbill — a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients receive partial reimbursement this way. Please check my [Fees page] for current rates and more detail on this.
My Background and Credentials
I hold a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Georgia and Alabama.
Beyond the degrees, here's what I'm actively involved in:
Vice President of the Atlanta Group Psychotherapy Society (AGPS)
Member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA)
Member of the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work; Culture of Care Committee Member
Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator (premarital and couples counseling)
Advanced training in DBT, ACT, IFS, ERP, trauma-informed care, somatic practices, anti-racism, and more
Engaged in regular consultation groups for individual and group psychotherapy
Over 100 continuing education hours focused specifically on group therapy
I'm absolutely a lifelong learner. I want my clients to have a therapist who stays current while also continuing to grow and improve.
